Prior to COVID-19, we made plans, came to agreements and signed contracts. Now, even our best-laid plans have been disrupted. With new economic conditions caused by social distancing, forced closures and health risks, things have changed in ways we could never have anticipated.
You may be experiencing broken contracts. Terms and conditions are now disputed. Compliance can be conditional. If you’re having difficulty resolving disputes, BBB is here to help.
There are a few options for dispute resolution:
We provide dispute resolution. With our mediation/arbitration services, the parties involved receive a professionally trained, neutral mediator/arbitrator who will virtually meet and guide them in constructing their own mutually agreeable solution. Virtual dispute resolution keeps everyone safe and healthy.
the Mediation alternative
Mediation is one of the best alternative dispute resolution techniques.
Mediation sessions are confidential and informal. During the session, your mediator clarifies differences, helps build positive communication and leads a discussion of options. Mediators don’t decide what course of action should be taken—that’s not their role. Instead, they help the parties reach a solution of their own—one that works best for both of them. It’s a win-win situation.
The binding alternative to the court system.
Arbitration is a legal process in which an impartial third party makes a final and binding decision to bring the issue to a close—it’s the last step in resolving a dispute when other efforts have failed. During the process, the arbitrator listens to both sides, weighs the evidence/testimony and makes a decision. It’s fast, informal, private and a great way to settle a problem outside of the legal system.
Dispute resolution is one of many services BBB runs to support businesses and consumers while promoting a safe and trustworthy business ecosystem.
